This band came to life in 2011, prompted by the saxophonist Roland Seilhes, passionate about swing music and dances which he practises with enthusiasm. He has an extensive repertoire and made to measure sets for Lindy Hop or Balboa.  1. THE BAND : Mama Shakers

Mama Shakers started in May 2016 and have, since then, played all over France and Europe, winning prizes at the Megève Jazz Contest and Tout Montreuil Chante. Their first album “Shout Sister Shout” came out in 2017.

Half way between Jug Band and 1920s New Orleans styles, The Mama Shakers will take you on a trip you won’t forget in a hurry!

Their groove is defined by the upright slap bass, the rhythmic guitar and the untamed banjo. Angela juggles her deep and smooth voice with the trumpet and the washboard and echoes Ezgi’s sensitive and inspired clarinet solos.

All of them sing and the backing vocals will in turn back Angela’s voice, Adrien’s (on the double bass) or Baptiste’s (on the guitar).

In 2016, Angela Strandberg (voice and trumpet), passionate about blues, got a group of musician friends together: Ezgi Sevgi Can, clarinettist inspired by traditional Middle Eastern music, Benjamin Stem who swapped his guitar for a tenor banjo and Adrien Mallamaire who swapped his electric guitar for a double bass. Baptiste Hec, the only one to keep his guitar, shared his talent with the group.

Since their first concert in May 2016 they have played in many Parisian concert halls including La Bellevilloise and l’Alimentation Générale, as well as in festivals across France and abroad.
